The Key to Recommitting to Your Goals

Hello Champion: 

We are two months into 2023 and New Year’s resolutions have long passed. It is important to reflect and understand what has happened with your goals.

Ask yourself - What have you achieved? Where did you fall short?

With ten months left in 2023, it is time to focus on recommitting to your goals. Many people get into their routine to start the year and gain momentum. Once they get out of their routine, they lose momentum, and lose confidence in themselves and their goals. 

The key is to not give up.

Some of the main reasons that people fail to meet their goals are:

  • Not making a plan

  • Setting goals that feel unattainable

  • Forgetting their WHY

When creating goals, it is important to make goals that are Measurable, Attainable, and Deadline-driven. M.A.D. goals are a strong foundation to begin with.

Once you create goals, it is important to develop habits that will help you achieve them. Some of the most important steps in staying consistent with your goals are:

  • Writing down your goals

  • Devoting time to your goals

  • Reflecting on your progress

Recommitting to goals is a process. In order to achieve what you are striving for, you need to understand that you will not always be motivated..

A couple of ways to avoid moving away from your goals are reminding yourself why you created them and having the courage to take action.

Progress is not perfectionism. It is okay to not be perfect. Rewriting your idea of success in a way that serves your purpose will build confidence in your goals. Continue to show up and believe in yourself and your goals can be accomplished.
